AI discovery
Last updated:
Catalogue-grounded assistance for buyers describing an industrial procurement need.
Current public status
The server-side Claude integration is implemented. AI assistance is currently disabled in the public preview. Ordinary product, category and location search remains available. The platform makes no claim of production Claude API use.
Retrieve before ranking
When explicitly enabled, the server first retrieves up to 30 approved real catalogue candidates. If retrieval returns no candidates, Claude is not called. Synthetic demonstrations are excluded. The model may select at most six existing candidate IDs or return no matches.
Information sent
The application sends the procurement query and bounded candidate names, descriptions, category, business name, city and state. These public fields may contain seller-provided information. Avoid putting personal, confidential or commercially sensitive information in a discovery query.
Information excluded
The application does not send passwords, account records, private verification files, private review notes or buyer enquiry contact details. API credentials remain on the server. Candidate retrieval uses the public database permissions.
Grounding and failure handling
The response must follow a structured schema. Unknown or duplicate IDs, extra fields and evidence that is not an exact quotation from its candidate are rejected. Displayed names and links come from the retrieved records. Provider failures, malformed output and a 12-second timeout lead to an ordinary-search link, not invented catalogue results.
Limits and activation
Requests are validated and bounded; model output is capped at 800 tokens. There is no automatic provider retry. Rate protection permits five requests per address per minute and two concurrent calls per server instance; it is not a global spending cap. Activation requires an explicit platform decision, an API credential, a feature flag and controlled validation. Model selection is server configuration.
Buyer judgment
AI ranking is a discovery aid. It may miss relevant records or select an unsuitable one. It does not confirm quality, stock, price, certification or supplier capability, and does not place orders or contact businesses.
